I’m sure I’m not the only one to have a creative or mental block when I begin to pray! This morning armed with my coffee & pain au chocolate, pen and notepad, I gained comfort and inspiration in the YouVersion app verse of the day:
“We don’t know what to pray”. That was how I felt this morning, even though there is so much to be thankful for
- An astonishing financial gift donated to us last week
- A great set of transition lessons
- New schools and opportunities opening up
- Our new primary worker: Katy!
- Great Church Visits
- People joining The One Hundred
- Wonderful mentoring feedback!
I began here, then added requests; yet I knew there was more that just needed to rest and pour out of my heart. I take courage in the truth written that ” The Spirit himself intercedes for us”. So many times in this job, we don’t know what to say, or pray; especially with some of the issues we deal with. Scripture promises us, Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf and we take comfort in that.
I know however, that for me to access what is on my heart to pray, those deeper desires for what we do, I need time and space. However, as I looked at my diary, space seemed impossible. Praise God – two hours later, space was made! Lise and I have also made a plan to visit The Living Well again this summer – hopefully with Katy too. Please pray for fruitfulness in these times – prayer is so essential to our work.
Thank you — lou
